ISPAC’s Structure

This committee will be comprised of respected members of the speed puzzling community, many of whom have demonstrated proficiency in puzzle competition organizing or judging.

All ISPAC members are actively involved with collaboratively developing and publishing philosophies and considerations.

  • Cristina C.

    @crispuzzle

    Co-founder

    Represents / Competes for: Australia

    Resides in: Australia
    Cristina has been passionate about puzzles for as long as she can remember. Originally from Spain, she moved to Australia and in 2021, by chance, discovered the world of speed puzzling after reading an article in a newspaper. Fascinated, she immediately joined the Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association and has been a regular competitor in state and national events ever since.

    While Cristina may not be the fastest puzzler, she thoroughly enjoys the camaraderie and teamwork that come with solving puzzles in pairs or as part of a team. She also takes great pleasure in supporting the puzzle community by helping organize competitions, especially in the role of a judge. For Cristina, it’s deeply fulfilling to contribute to the smooth running of events while watching others engage with and enjoy the puzzling experience.

  • Daphne H.

    @daphnepuzzles

    Co-founder

    Represents/Competes for: The Netherlands

    Resides in: Germany

    Daphne has been a casual puzzler for most of her life, learning about speed puzzling through her sister, who competed in the WJPC in 2019

     After some competitions in a family team, she is now happy to accept that she can puzzle at her own pace and enjoy the puzzling community through being a volunteer.

    After being a judge at the WJPC 2024 she would like to further assist this community where ever she can.

  • Jason S.

    Jason S.

    @jas_puzzles

    Co-founder / Technology

    Represents/Competes for: Commonwealth of Australia

    Resides in: Commonwealth of Australia

    Jason’s first puzzle competition was the Queensland State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition in 2021, which he and his pairs partner placed first in. Since then he’s become a regular fixture at Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association events, both as a volunteer and committee member of the AJPA. He has also helped organize and run several other community puzzle competitions, and is a founding member of the UK Jigsaw Puzzle Association.

    Jason has a keen interest in competition procedure and has regularly volunteered in judging and timekeeping roles, alongside providing technical and videography support to the groups he’s involved with.

    As a puzzler Jason is happy to just compete, and most relishes pair and team puzzling – and collecting every single 500 piece puzzle he can get his hands on.

  • Riikka U.

    @riikka_puzzles

    Co-founder

    Represents / Competes for: Finland

    Resides in: Finland

    Riikka has done puzzles longer than she can remember. She first heard about speed puzzling in the summer of 2022 but resisted trying it out until 2023 when she quickly fell in love with the sport. She loves the rush of adrenaline you get in a competition and particularly enjoys pair and team events.

    As a regular volunteer in the Euro Jigsaw Jam online competitions organized by Speedpuzzle.eu, she has had a front row seat to see how the sport has developed, especially in Europe. In addition, she has helped market the Finnish National Championship competitions ran by the Finnish Jigsaw Puzzle Sport Association and hopes to help the sport grow in Finland in other ways.

    Riikka is most well known in the community through her analysis of the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship results and in particular the effect of “the country rule”. Her analysis has helped many to form more fact-based opinions about the country rule and to have a better understanding of all the effects the rule has to the results of the competition.

  • William S.

    @the_puzzlEAR

    Co-founder / Communications

    Represents/Competes for: United States of America

    Resides in: Unites States of America

    William’s first speed puzzling competition was at the 2022 USA Jigsaw Nationals, and shortly after, he co-founded a regional group called Orange County Speed Puzzlers (OCSP). OCSP hosts competitions every other month for 100 competitors (either pairs or teams). OCSP will host a first-in-the-US “24-hour Puzzle Marathon” for 15 teams of 8 puzzlers in February of 2025.

    William is a year-round volunteer for the USAJPA writing Member Highlights: https://www.usajigsaw.org/member-highlights

    He also serves as the Head Volunteer Judge and Room Manager for the USA Jigsaw Nationals.

    William says that although he isn’t the fastest puzzler, he still enjoys participating and is quite happy being in “the middle of the pack”. He has a passion for “creating communal moments of happiness”, so event organizing brings him joy. He thrives at process improvement and creation, with an example seen here from the 2024 USA Jigsaw Nationals: https://youtu.be/wiMfKnhiDe4?si=njBAGIyJwZxof6NH&t=4905
